Another vote for Slack.  And a vote for the Gentoo bootstrap installer,
whatever they call that particular ISO image.

It'd also be great to have one of the encumbranceless versions of RHEL,
such as Tao or White Box.

And even though it's the Atlanta LINUX Enthusiasts, maybe (Free|Open)BSD?
