Oops. I didn't really got to use it, but the following bullets on the 
website were the ones that led me to believe that you could "play" the 
aac to a wave file, as well as to the soundcard:

1 - Decode an AAC file into its original 16-bit PCM raw format (WAV)
2 - Decode an AAC file while simultaneously rendering to an audio 
device (playing an AAC file)

Maybe there's some runtime option?
