I would recommend m0n0wall ( http://www.m0n0.ch/wall/ ) running on a Soekris 
Board ( http://www.soekris.com/ ). Soekris' are made just to be networking 
devices, and have handy dandy features like a Hardware Watchdog, PoE, Serial 
out (for display) and a CF card slot built in.
