(I thought) someone else (Stephan Uphoff) posted to the list a link to a 
google search, but after reviewing the message again, I noted it was not 
posted to the list.

Basically, by changing the following in /etc/modules.conf:


alias net-pf-10 ipv6
# alias net-pf-10           off

to:

# alias net-pf-10 ipv6
alias net-pf-10           off

resolved the problem.  Thing is, I'd like to think there's a better
solution, but I'll go with this since it works. :)
