[ale] Tomcat & Cocoon revisited

To answer my own question from a couple of weeks back--on my new install of
Gentoo, I didn't bother with the Sun jdk, just kept the default Blackdown
1.4.1. The outdated Xalan problem doesn't come up.

I did need to emerge a version of Cocoon that isn't marked as stable yet
(2.1.4), and do a little hand-waving, as in:
http://cocoon.apache.org/2.1/installing/index.html#Installing+on+Tomcat+4.0.4b1+LE+with+JDK+1.4.0

It starts up now--just got to figure out why most of the examples don't.
