My last AT&T provided laptop was a dell, and it worked fabulously for 
the 3 years I had it.  Came with some virus preinstalled which I cleaned 
with a good Linux install.  Never a problem either, but I'd have a hard 
time going with Dell as well because of their stance on OS preinstalls.
