Not to burst your bubble, but standard 'mkdir' has an argument '-p'
which will do exactly what you wish.
mkdir -p ./a/b/c/d/e/f/g/h/i/j/k
I don't know if the cygwin mkdir will do that or not, but I suspect it
will.
