[ale] DVD -> DivX

I'm installing a PC that I will being using as a 
media center.  It will server up my MP3s and DVD
movies as DivX.  Does anyone here have any software
that can be used to eaisly convert DVD movies into DivX
format?  I plan on using this as my daughters machine so she
can watch any cartoon at anytime.  I had in the past used
a ripper on RH 7.3 but I could never get the sound to match the
video quite right.
