Someone on the KDE newsgroup was complaining about Spamasssassin freezing up 
Kmail when it is processing incoming mail. It turns out this is mostly from 
doing DNS lookups. You can suppress lookups by starting spamd like this:

spamd -L

If you do this, you will see much faster processing of incoming mails, no 
matter what mail client you use. The improvements are dramatic.
