Cat5 has 8 wires, you need 4 of them for ethernet.

IN THEORY, just split it at the jack and wire it up correct on both ends.

Of course, this is probably not spec, may lead to interference, slower
speeds, fire, famine, dogs and cats living together, UN resolutions or who
knows what :)
