[ale] Remote admin tools/techniques

A major gap in my Linux knowledge is how to efficiently admin a large
number of systems remotely.  Like say I wanted to install the latest
fixes on 150 RH8 boxes in the space of an afternoon.  Stuff like that. 
What tools are available?  Where's a good place to start reading?
