[ale] macGimp?

Has anyone tried out macGimp? I was looking into installing fink (http://fink.sourceforge.net) today, mostly for OpenOffice and Gimp, but it looks like Gimp and OO are ported if you run X on OSX. Anyone have any experience running either in Apple-land?
