[ale] headless server install (again)

so i have this server to install (RH 7.3), and it has a video out, but 
there is no video coming out.  I have a keyboard connected, and it's 
lights come on, so i know it is responding.  There is a port for a null 
modem, but i am not sure how to go about installing on it.  Can anyone 
give me some pointers on a null modem install?
