_Permission Based Email Marketing That Works_ by Kim MacPherson is
well-respected in the genre.
Virtually anything by Seth Godin is treated like the holy grail.
Check out _Unleashing the Idea Virus_, _The Big Red Fez_, and
_Permission Marketing_.
Very much worth your time is _Green Banana Papers_ by Chris Coleman.
