For those who don't refresh /. every five minutes, there is a nice
discussion on the results of IBMs linux stress test.

Posts touch on the differences between hardware and software failures,
test methodology, and whether to trust a company with a vested interest
in the outcome, etc. 

It makes for an interesting read.
