[ale] cube troubles

hey i realize this isnt high on the problems to solve list ;) but i was
wondering if someone knew how to execute cube? i installed it on a gentoo
system, and it seems all the binaries are in /usr/games/bin file but cant
seem to get it to work :( are there configs to be done? is there a good
site on this? i surfed a few and couldnt find what i thought i needed :(
any help would be appreciated
