The Unix Haters Handbook has gone out of print, so rights have reverted
to the original authors. One of them has put the entire book online in a
PDF file at http://research.microsoft.com/~daniel/unix-haters.html.

BTW, the microsoft.com domain is pure happenstance -- the book was
written before the guy worked for the Evil Empire.

The Anti-Forward by Dennis Ritchie  is alone worth the 3.5 MB download.
Some of the rest of the book is out-of-date (complaints about bugs in
Sun's kernel, weird man(1) behaviors), some of it is embarassingly true
(Why are head(1) and tail(1) two different programs, with ->two
different interfaces<- ?).

Worth a read, if only for the yocks.
