When I called about 2:00 they said "Outage?  I don't know about an 
outage.  What do you mean 'Layer 3 is hosed'?"

When I called about 3:30 they said "We know there's a problem and it 
should be fixed by 4:30."

When I called about 8:30 they said "A line was cut.  We don't know when 
service will be restored."

When I was ready to go to bed about 10:30 the traceroute shell loop I 
had set up was returning successfully so apparently they got things fixed.

I wish there were a reasonably priced alternative for high speed 
residential access I could use as a redundant path.
