[ale] Linux on Gateway

I have a PC that someone gave me (the power supply is bad) it is a gateway Essential 800c. I can probably find the power supply to replace this one, but I am wondering if it is worth my time to fix and install Linux on it. The keyboard and mouse are USB, there are NO PS2 ports. Will this actually work in Linux? Has anyone installed Linux on one of these beasts??
