While I don't have personal experience with SAP db, I did see a 
presentation at one of the recent AUUG meetings that discussed SAP db, 
Postgresql, Mysql and Oracle.  The verdict on SAP db seemed to be it 
worked, was pretty solid and definitely scalable given the number of 
large SAP installations that are out there.  However, it was difficult 
to install and didn't have a large track record in the US.
