[ale] VNC

Well, I think they tried,

http://www.tightvnc.com/

I've had problems with it though, doesn't seem as robust as straight up VNC.
Been a while though so maybe they got it straightened out.

What are you doing? VNC has always performed adequately for me
(price/performance ratio is really good :-), but the Windows VNC
server is a CPU hog. That has to do with implementation details, IIRC;
apparently it's possible to make it a lot faster by rewriting the bits
that deal with detecting screen changes, but no one's bothered to do
that. The X VNC server, though, is blazingly fast.
