[ale] Why can't I ftp anywhere

I've gotten increasingly frustrated that I can't ftp anywhere.  In
particular, non of the 4 US mirrors of kde.org will let me in.  The
universality of the problem leads me to believe that my site has
something wrong with it.

I used to think it was reverse DNS not working, but that isn't it since
I've verified that reverse DNS does work on our NAT address.

Any other ideas?  I vaguely recall something about identd being a
possible issue.
