[ale] lilo.conf append= line?

I'm trying to pass:

option e1000 RxDescriptors=4096 TxDescriptors=1024

to my kernel though a lilo.conf append line since modules are a no-go
here.  Would the correct line be:

append="e1000='RxDescriptors=4096,TxDescriptors=1024'"

or what?
