[ale] recording video from vcr to cd

Is it possible to record from vcr to cd in linux using the s cable provided
the vcr has such a port on it?  My current video card has that port attached
to it also (Nvidia Gforce3 64MB).  I wonder if Linux can handle video in on
that port.
