[ale] postgresql dumps template1

I'm using postgreSQL 7.2.1. Every few days (not sure on the interval)
postgres dies and removes the template1 on death. At least thats what I
think is going on. I'm no raving expert on databases and have been
tinkering with the ODBC stuff with OpenOffice and also looking at
SQL-Ledger. But a database that dumps itself does me no good :(

Has anyone had problems with PostgreSQL death on non-use like this?
Without template1, it won't restart properly.
