[ale] gentoo install errors

i know this is a repost but, i followed the gentoo install instructions to a T from thier website, i made the hd file systems no problem, i partitioned the drive (not in that order) and everything was going well, i created the folders and mounted them no probs, when i had to untar the base file it gave me an error, it started to detar but then eventually died with an "unrecoverable error" i posted the errors in the previous mail, was it a bad base file? i tried it on 3 different cds and dl from 2 different computers one at work and one at home, they are rw media, .... any suggestions?Do You Yahoo!?
