[ale] is it OK for 2 scsi cards in same machine to have the same ID ?

Yes.  The ID numbers only have a context on the same bus.  

Two SCSI cards CAN'T have ID 7 if they are in separate machines 
connected on either end of the same bus and both machines are running. 
 This occurs under some failover scenarios.
