[ale] Sparc 5 questions

I have the option of purchasing (cheaply) a Sparc 5
workstation...either the 70 mhz or 170 mhz.

I've read of some problems installing linux on the
170.  Has anyone successfully done this?  I'd really
like to get that extra 100 mhz ;-).

Also, what are these equivalent to in the intel world?
 I have no experience with Sun boxes....
