Why can't you just use the JRE 1.3.1 plugin?
After all, anything compiled under 1.2.2 will run under 1.3.1. Not to
mention it'll run faster and considerably more stable as leaps and
bounds have been made in the JVMs.
(And in fact, you could use 1.2.2. to run stuff compiled under 1.3.1, as
log as you didn't use any 1.3-specific classes (there aren't many))
