Just remember that air movement can greatly accelerate the spread of
fire and smoke, so anything you run through an air duct should be
fire-resistant and have low-smoke-producing characteristics. For
this reason, the NEC says that communication cables installed in air
ducts and plenums must be of a special type (which costs roughly
three times what regular cable costs).
