Try placing a switch/hub in a strategic location, that way your cat5 won't
exceed 20-30 meter :)
I occupied one shelve in the closed of the center bedroom and ran the cables
to all the rooms through the attic and down the walls.
I probably have 200-300 meters of cat5 total in the walls. One room got 4
ports, all occupied :)

What's the max length of CAT5 running 100M without loss?

(yes there's a finished ceiling and she want's minimal visual impact)
