[ale] Kernel problem

Thanks all.  After some more trial and error, using the "original" 
USB_UHCI driver instead of the alternate USB_UHCI_ALT seems to have 
corrected the problem (at least the system boots.  I haven't check to 
see if can still get to my USB devices...)
