Yes, you can. Sorta. My brother,Vincent Martin, works for the Center for the 
Visually impaired and is familiar with software and hardware to do this sort of 
thing. you can contact him at vmartin at mindspring.com 

However, all his expertise is with windows based machines. IF you need to do
this for linux, he may or may not be that useful.
