[ale] can't get Mail:name requested, but it exists....huh ?

Greetings Again [Debian Shakedown] :-(,

Running Netscape Communicator 4.78 under Debian 2.2_v3, I have inserted
my username [which works under several other machines running Netscape]
in Preferences under Messenger.

But when I click on Get Msg it always asks that username be input into
Preferences, instead of retrieving mail.

Anyone resolved this ?
