[ale] Trouble with sound on Toshiba Tecra 8100 running Mandrake 8.0.

My soundcard lists as a Yamaha ymf-744b.

I hear nothing when I run the HardDrake sound config tool.

Any suggestions as to where I could start looking to fix this will be
welcomed.
