[ale] Controlling Motorola Digital Cable Boxes

I've got digital cable from Charter and have a Motorola cable box. The
model number on the bottom is DCT2224/1661/ACDEG. It has, what appears
to be, a serial port on the back. Does anyone know if this box can be
controlled externally? Is there any documentation, or programs that do
this? I'm only looking to change the channel.
