[ale] QT/Embeddix

I was just reading the review of Sharp's Linux/Java PDA and it mentioned
Troll Tech's Qt/Embeddix. Basically it is a version of Qt that runs
directly off the FrameBuffer (instead of X-Windows).
I am wondering if anyone (if possible) is running KDE without X-Windows.
This seems very appealing for me on my aging Laptop. I tend to follow
gnome but if I can drop the memory hog of X-Windows it would add several
put off obselecense(sp?) by a few years I believe.
