If I type 'ps ax | grep send' I see this....
3560 ? S 0:01 sendmail: accepting connections
3567 ? S 0:00 sendmail: Queue runner at 00:00:30 for /var/spool/mqueue/q1
3569 ? S 0:00 sendmail: Queue runner at 00:00:30 for /var/spool/mqueue/q2
3573 ? S 0:00 sendmail: Queue runner at 00:00:30 for /var/spool/mqueue/q3
...until about 1 week later when I see this....
3560 ? S 0:01 sendmail: accepting connections
3567 ? S 0:00 [sendmail]
3569 ? S 0:00 [sendmail]
3573 ? S 0:00 [sendmail]
Everything still works fine, mail is received, queued, and sent out without any
problems.
Under what circumstances would Linux change the process listing to
"[sendmail]"?
TIA,
-Jim P.
