[ale] boot process

I am using RED HAT 7.0 2.2.16-22.  Wednesday it locked-up totally?  I
have never seen it do THAT!  When I pushed the reset button the machine
rebooted and went to a out of sinq screen.  I rebooted again and the
setups came up but near the screen went blank.  I rebooted to linux
single and see all.  I need to know what to look at in the boot process
to see what it is doing?  Any help would be appreciated.

I looked at rc3.d but I don't know what executes it?
