[ale] cups and hpgl plotter

I've had two older pen plotters gathering dust in my garage.
both use HPGL.
the smaller is a HP7550A.
The larger is a Calcomp 1025.
They both run the self-test fine.

how do i set these up with CUPS?
is there another method i need to be using.
