Definately an attempt to exploit a well know vulnerability in rpc.statd.
Older versions are vulnerable to a buffer overflow attack. It's been a
while since I dug into this, but I believe what you are seeing is an
example of a complete idiot attempting to run PPC shellcode against what
I'm assuming is a x86 box. No worries...

rpc.statd exploit in a google search block should get you all the info you
can stand.
