[ale] Installing Network Card problems

I recently added a NetGear 311 card to my box running Red Hat 7.1/win 98.
Linux detected the card on reboot.  (which I was surprised Netgear just put
up a new driver for RedHat 7.1 last week on their web site)

My problem is that now that I've added the card it seems to conflicting with
my mouse.  When I try to startx it says it couldn't start becuase it
couldn't initalize my mouse.

Can anyone point me along the path to fix this.
