[ale] lastlog question

When I logged into one of our Linux servers this morning, this appeared
in /var/log/secure:

   Jun  1 09:58:56 server1 sshd[32713]: lastlog_get_entry: Error
            reading from /var/log/lastlog: Device not configured

Is that due to lastlog rotating?
