[ale] linux kernel tuneables ?

OK, I've answered my own question. I went to /etc/sysctl.conf and added
the line:

fs.file-max=8192

Then did a /etc/rc.d/init.d/network restart to take effect.

From what I found out, the default for this parm is 4096.

Anyone know where this type of kernel tuneables are documented? I'd
like to see what else is tuneable.

Thanks,

Gene
