[ale] hosts file problem?

Quick question:

I have 3 linux boxen that I run "xload" on to a remote monitor.  This is
what they all say onscreen:

patriot.mydomain.com
sidewinder.mydomain.com
tomahawk

The problem is that the third one doesn't print the domain out.  My
hosts file is the same for all three (less the hostname & ip, of
course).  

Does anyone have any suggestions?  This is kind of making me nutty...

P.S.
My machines are aptly named after the first cruise missiles we sent over
to osama.  (Die you bastard)
