[ale] debian gui difficulties

hmm gpm? gnome?  um im not running gnome if thats what
it is (sorry im not too experienced yet :-p) well x11
seems to work without fail alone..... but when the
um... window managers come into play it gets freaky on
me... er well with some atleast... im not sure about
all... any ideas why? im not running nor have i dl kde
or gnome.. if i did it was some added files required
by apt-get to run a couple wm's
