[ale] tar and usernames

Okay...on the filesystem, a file is just marked with a uid and gid, which
commands like ls lookup to find a user and group name for human
consumption.

Is there a way to have tar just backup the uid/gid without trying to also
store user/group name?

Trying to cut way back on the number of hits against our LDAP server when
backing up 4000 directories and files.
