For PINE's built-in POP3 client, you define the folder something like
{hostname.of.pop3server/pop3/user=popusername}INBOX
When you open up that folder, it'll ask for your password and then connect.
However, the best solution under Unix is to use fetchmail to pop / imap /
whatever your mail down from the server, and then use whatever MUA you
like....
