I thought I would try KDE 2.0, so I downloaded all the RPM's from
RedHat. But when I type "startkde" from the command line, all I get is:
Session management error: Authentication Rejected, reason : None of the
authentication protocols specified are supported and host-based
authentication failed
kdeinit: error while loading shared libraries:
/usr/lib/qt-2.2.1/lib/libqt.so.2: undefined symbol:

ERROR: KUniqueApplication: Trying to launch kdeinit.

authentication protocols specified are supported and host-based
authentication failed
kwin: it looks like there's already a window manager running. kwin not
startedsh: /usr/share/sounds/KDE_Startup.wav: Permission denied
If I try to select it as the window manager from the X login screen, I
just get bounced back to the login screen. If I go to the prompt and put
startkde in the .xinit file, then KDE starts alright. But there is a
blank screen and no menus. Somehow, I think this isn't how it's supposed
to work. Does anyone have any clues?
