[ale] make bzImage -> undefined references->Error 1

Greetings Once More !

Under RedHat6.1, after.......
	make depend
I.......
	make bzImage
and, the last line on returning is......
	Error 1
with a lot of undefined references to ppa.o and imm.o

I am trying to compile in ftape functionality which requires "SCSI Low
Level functionality, as well as "Ftape" under Char Devices, in make
menuconfig.

Direction much appreciated,
